One of the best breakfast rooms I have seen. Every continent’s cuisine is represented.
After braving Mount Rinjani, we treat ourselves to a stay at the Pullman. Since we currently no longer have (good) status with Accor, we book our stay with an Impressario: Points Consultant. This way, we still get the most out of our stay.
Pullman Mandalika Lombok
We are upgraded from our room to a Deluxe room with a sea view. The room, especially when booked with Points Consultant, is excellent.
As soon as we step into the room, we see a very warm and tasty welcome and there are two written cards waiting for us. One from the hotel itself, one from the impresario. In addition, there is a personal message with pictures written on the mirror. Now that’s what I call a warm welcome..
The room is otherwise spacious and clean, features a nice bathroom with large shower, bath and, of course, toilet. All neatly separated from each other. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a minibar.
The bed is excellent and large. In addition, there is a pillow menu, so you sleep pristinely on a perfect pillow, for an optimal night’s sleep. I am a fan!
Advantages of the Accor All Program
If you are an Accor member and the All programme, you will get upgrades to available room types and free breakfast depending on your status.
As mentioned, I no longer have status at the time of booking, so I choose to use an impresario. This is also how we booked the Conrad in Istanbul earlier and we really liked it.
Cost of Pullman Mandalika Lombok
We pay 109 euros for the Pullman Lombok. That’s for a standard room including breakfast (November 2024). By booking with the impresario, we are offered an upgrade to a Deluxe room and welcome snacks.
Advantages
- A nice room with a luxurious bathroom and a very good bed
- One of the best breakfast rooms I have seen
- Large pool and access to private beach.
- You can use the beach at the Novotel Hotel
Cons
- As one of the few drawbacks, I can name the gym, which could be better.
Pullman and Novotel Beach
Before checking in, we have already visited the Pullman and we are familiar with the swimming pool located at the Pullman’s (private) beach. Complete with beach beds and umbrellas, it’s a great place to relax.
On the day of check-in, we also get word that we can use the beach at the adjacent Novotel. That seems to be slightly cleaner, so perfect.
As we only have a short time to spend, we do not use the beach facilities, but it is good to know that you can use both.
Pullman Lombok Breakfast
Fantastic. Yes, we have experienced good breakfast before, but the Pullman is among the top. We have been spoiled with excellent breakfasts at SO/ Bangkok and Conrad Istanbul, but the Pullman’s breakfast room offers dishes from every continent.
Whether you fancy a fresh salad, humus with flatbread, fresh noodle soup or ice cream with popcorn? Everything is available. Baristas are also on hand to provide you with fresh coffee or cappuccino.
There is plenty of seating space in the breakfast room and the various seating areas are well distributed, making it a great place to be – despite the crowds.
Are you visiting the Pullman with children? Then it is nice to know that there is also a kids’ corner, where they can have a great time during breakfast.
Remote Working at Lombok
In the Pullman, there are plenty of opportunities to work remotely and the connection of 17Mbps is also fine. You can work smoothly on that and make video calls.
Just make sure that if you use the public Wi-Fi network, you secure your connection with a VPN like NordVPN.
Location Pullman Mandalika
The Pullman is located just outside Kuta and on the edge of the Mandalika Circuit. Just located to the bazaar – the main street between Kuta and the circuit.
Since there are many stray dogs on Lombok, exploring the area on foot from the hotel is not ideal. However, if you have a scooter, you can reach the bustling center within minutes.
A taxi will get you to the airport in about 25 minutes. The fare is about 12 euros.
Gym Pullman Lombok
What could have been better about the Pullman is the gym. We were still exhausted from the tough climb on Rinjani, but if I wanted to exercise, I would not have found the gym adequate.
There are 5 cardio machines, a multi-station and a few weights lying around. Not enough to really do a nice workout with. They could still invest in that. The spa was unfortunately closed at the time we visited the Pullman.
Conclusion Pullman Lombok
The Pullman is a very nice hotel and does a lot of things right. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean. The bed with its pillow menu is also very nice.
Standouts are the hotel and sea views and really the only thing I can think of is the gym where improvements could be made.
