HNA Club Beijing Seat Impression

HNA Club Skyclub Lounge Beijing

After the Skyteam Lounge at Beijing closed permanently in 2022, Skyteam began using HNA Club.

HNA Club Beijing

After Skyteam opened its own lounge at Beijing airport in 2017, it closed permanently in 2022. So while checking in for my flight, I am instructed to use HNA Club, the lounge used by Skyteam after its own lounge closed.

A modern, large lounge, HNA Club consists of four seating areas separated by open shelves. Each area is decorated in a separate way, with lounge chairs, single work chairs or a restaurant set-up. The lounge can accommodate a total of 150 guests, but is very quiet at the time I visit.

In addition – thankfully – the lounge offers its own Wi-Fi network, as logging on to the airport Wi-Fi network is virtually impossible.

Access HNA Club Beijing

You get access to HNA Club Lounge if you have a Business or First Class ticket from Hainan Airlines, KLM, AirFrance or other Skyteam Partners, among others. Buying access is also possible, although it is difficult to find out exactly what the cost is. Access with Priority Pass or a credit card is not available.

  • Business or First Class ticket
Do you fly with Hanian Airlines, KLM or another Skyteam Partner? Then you will have access at least if you have booked a Business or First Class ticket.
  • Buying access
Buying access is also possible, but it is not clear exactly what the cost is and/or how long you can then stay in the lounge.

Location HNA Club Beijing

The lounge is located in Terminal two near Gate 12 on the left. Just before you walk towards gate 13-18.

Food and drink HNA Club Beijing

The lounge offers some snacks and some form of live cooking. If you want to order food, you can do so via an iPad opposite the kitchen. You enter your order and then grab a pager.

As soon as you place your order, your meal will be prepared. You can collect it as soon as your pager goes off. This is the first time I have ordered food this way in a lounge and I personally like it. After all, very little food is wasted this way.

In terms of drinks, you can choose from coffee, tea, water and soft drinks, but spirits are also available. Overall, in terms of food and drinks, there is little to fault at HNA Club.

Work and internet Beijing Airport

Working in the lounge is fine. As mentioned, HNA Club has its own Wi-Fi network and a test on fast.com yields a speed of 66MB/s. This is obviously with a VPN, as China itself blocks the internet here and there.

Anyway, it is advisable to use a VPN connection if you are on public networks.

There are plenty of workstations in the lounge in the form of chairs with a fold-out table or bars you can sit at.

Shower & toilet HNA Club Beijing

The toilet and showers in the lounge are very good. I have rarely experienced such a nice shower room. Although I didn’t need to shower for my flight, I took a few photos for this review.

You get some small hand soaps and shampoo(s), bath slippers, a towel and a shaving and toothbrushing kit. Besides, the general toilets also look fine.

Other facilities

Apart from the general seating areas, the lounge also offers some semi-enclosed areas. There is a lounge/bed, a massage chair and there is a bike, for when you want to do your daily cardio before a long flight. I wonder aloud if it has ever been used.

Conclusion HNA Club Beijing

The HNA Club lounge is a pleasant lounge. No excess or luxury like the KrisFlyer lounge in Singapore or The Pier in Sydney, but a fine lounge where you can relax while waiting for your flight.
