After our stay in Da Nang, it’s time for Spain. We fly from Da Nang via Hanoi to Frankfurt and then on to Alicante.
Before that, we pay a brief visit to the Vietnam Airline Lotus Lounge in Da Nang. Since we are flying to Hanoi via Da Nang, we will visit the lounge in the Domestic Terminal.

The lounge is accessible to passengers with a Business Class ticket or if you have Gold or Platinum SkyTeam status and ticket from a SkytTeam partner.

The lounge is located in the Domestic Terminal of Da Nang Airport. Once you are through the security check, turn right and take the stairs or escalator to the 2nd floor. You will see the lounge immediately on your right.
Food & drink
Food and drinks are abundantly available in the lounge, but unfortunately the quality leaves something to be desired.
Food
While you can opt for some fresh fruit or a salad, the rest is sadly less so. Pre-packaged instant noodles, pork pie and crispy sausage, plain spaghetti, fatty pork with broth or a sticky-rice cake.
Drink
Drinking consists of coffee & tea or soft drinks. I did not see wine, beer, or other strong alcoholic drinks.
Working at Da Nang Airport
Working at Da Nang Airport is difficult. WiFi in the lounge is available, but very slow. Working on a hotspot via your mobile phone is possible, you can choose providers such as Saily.
In any case, use a VPN if you do use the public network to keep your data safe.

Toilets
The lounge has its own toilets. These are very clean despite the crowded lounge.
Showers
Showering in the lounge is also possible. I am surprised that this is possible in a small lounge for domestic flights, but I have seen this more often with Vietnam Airlines.
I have not used the showers in this lounge, but based on other lounges, I assume they are also neat.
Massage chairs
You also see this more on Vietnam Airlines: massage chairs. There are two in this lounge too.
Chairs for a power nap
Next to the massage chairs, at the back of the lounge, you will find two partially screened chairs where you can take a power nap. Although the space is open, the separation means there is still a sense of privacy.
Conclusion Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Da Nang
The Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge in Da Nang is nothing special. It is crowded, there are no windows and the LED lights in the ceiling with clouds in them look cheap.
The food is of moderate quality and the range of drinks is also quite limited. It’s not a lounge you need to arrive at the airport early for.
