Today we visit the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge in Hanoi. We are flying with Vietnam Airlines from Hanoi to Da Nang and because of our status with Skyteam, we get access to the lounge.
SkyTeam Lounge in Hanoi
The Skyteam lounge in Hanoi that we visit is located in the Domestic Terminal. As soon as you walk into the lounge, you immediately notice that the lounge is spacious. You will find many different seating areas and personally, I find the lounge very large.
It has to be, by the way, because twice during our stay at the lounge, it becomes fairly full, although there is still room left to sit.
The lounge has a number of facilities that I would not have expected at a lounge in the Domestic Terminal and would not have needed for me. I personally would have preferred the buffet to be better.
Impression Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Hanoi

The lounge is located by the apron, giving you a nice view of the runway.

Entry Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Hanoi
You can gain access to the lounge in two ways. With a suitable ticket or with status with Skyteam or one of its alliances.
- Status with SkyTeam and/or Flying Blue
Do you fly with a SkyTeam partner (e.g. Vietnam Airlines, KLM, Air France, etc) and have gold or platinum status with Flying Blue? Then you may enter the lounge. - Business or First Class Ticket
Have you booked a Business Class ticket with lounge access with Vietnam Airlines or another SkyTeam partner? Then you may also enter this lounge. - DragonPass
DragonPass will also get you access to the lounge. Priority Pass will not help you gain access to the lounge in this case.

Location Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Hanoi
You will find the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge in the Domestic Terminal near Gate 4. You follow the signs VIP, CIP and Business Lounge to the third floor. Once you reach the top of the escalator, the lounge immediately catches your eye.

Food & drink in the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge
The food in the lounge is nothing special. Although there is a large buffet, the taste is disappointing to me. The bar, too, unfortunately struggles to serve me a good coffee, so I end up with a bag of instant coffee.
Food
You’ll find mostly local cuisine with a salad here and there. Although there is plenty of choice and also many healthy options, the taste unfortunately disappoints me.

The lounge also has a station where you can have fresh Noodles prepared.

Drink
Drinking in the lounge consists of a number of fridges with water and soft drinks.

Just past the buffet you will find a bar, where you can order coffee, tea and cocktails.

Working Hanoi Airport
Working at Hanoi airport is fine. Internet is not fast, but it is stable and there is also more than enough space to unfold your laptop.
If you use the lounge’s public network, make sure you secure your connection with a VPN.

Facilities Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Hanoi
Although located in a Domestic Terminal, the lounge has more facilities than I expected.
Showers
For instance, showers can be found just past the toilets. These are freely accessible and you do not need to reserve. You will find a tray with towel, shampoo and shower gel as soon as you enter the room

Toilets
The toilets are located in the lounge and are very clean. A cleaner walks around constantly to keep the toilets tidy.
During our visit to the lounge, it was very busy twice, but the toilets remained spick and span.

Massage chair
At the back of the lounge, you’ll find two Zero Gravity massage chairs. It’s fun (and nice) to sit in for a while, although it gets very hot pretty quickly.

Lockers
You will also find lockers in the lounge. Just past the bar is a row of lockers where you can safely store your bag or suitcase.

Conclusion Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge Hanoi
I liked the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge. The lounge is nothing special, but good enough for a domestic flight.
The lounge is spacious, has many amenities and has many separate seating areas. Despite the crowds, this allows you to wait for your flight to depart in reasonable calm.
