Radisson Collection Tallinn Entrance

Radisson Collection Tallinn

A freshly baked breakfast, four saunas in an expansive spa and a lovely room. The Radisson hotel is a gem.

During my visit to Tallinn, I am staying at both Hilton Park and the Radisson Collection hotel in Tallinn. The hotel opened in 2022 and it shows. Like the Conrad in Bangalore, the Radisson Collection hotel exudes something modern and you notice it immediately when you walk in.

Hotel Central Tallinn

The fact that the hotel is located in a building built in 1999, by the way, also shows. Unfortunately, from the outside, the hotel does not have the look that it has inside. The building looks dated from the outside, but once inside, you don’t notice any of that. The Radisson Collection Hotel exceeded all my expectations.

Radisson Collection Hotel

The Radisson Collection hotel is a complete hotel and does almost everything right. What could be better? You’ll read about that later in the blog, but I can reveal that it’s not much.

The hotel offers a good breakfast, very good gym and fine bedrooms. The hotel is new and you notice it in every detail. USB-C charging points, modern furniture in the room and not yet every wall is damaged or every sealant edge mouldy.

Advantages of the Radisson

  • Modern hotel and therefore in good condition
  • Delicious – fresh – breakfast with à la carte option
  • Huge spa
  • Good location, near city centre, port and airport
Disadvantages of the Radisson
  • Shower in a bathtub

Price Radisson Collection Tallinn

I pay 118 euros (January 2025) for the Radisson Collection hotel in Tallinn. That’s the price for a standard double room, excluding breakfast.

Because I have status with Radisson, I get an upgrade to a room on a higher floor and free breakfast. Access to the spa is included in the price though.

Location Radisson Collection Tallinn

The location of the Radisson Collection hotel is good. The hotel is adjacent to the city centre and in about 10 minutes you are at the railway station.

The airport is about a 10-minute drive and the port – if you want to take a boat to Helsinki – is also about a 10-minute drive.

Room Radisson Collection

The room at the Radisson hotel is fine. Not particularly big, but spacious enough. The beds are firm and, with the Radisson’s pillow programme, you’ll always have a pillow to suit your taste.

The décor of the room – and the hotel in general – is modern chic, with warm tones. Advantages to the room include USB-C chargers at the beds.

The bathroom is also modern with a fine vanity, but this is also where one of the hotel’s few – and small – downsides immediately comes to the fore.

The shower is placed in a bathtub and although this means you have a bath as well, it cannot meet with my approval. I prefer a walk-in shower without a bath to that of a bath with a shower built into it.

It is also a pity that there are no soap pumps on the wall, but you get two small bottles with shower gel and shampoo, while downstairs in the swimming pool there are pumps with nice Radisson soap.

Breakfast Radisson Collection Tallinn

Delicious. Breakfast is delicious. In recent days, I have been staying at the Radisson and Hilton in Helsinki, because they opted for quantity instead of quality. The Radisson in Tallinn does it much better.

The breakfast room consists of a number of separate seating areas, each with its own style. The separation makes it feel quieter than it actually is. At no point during breakfast is it noisy.

Although the standard breakfast invites you to scoop often and lots, after a fresh salad I go for an a la carte dish and I don’t regret it. The fried egg on sourdough bread is specially prepared and very tasty.

The smoothies and fresh shots with ginger, strawberry and apple juice are also doing well. Fancy coffee, tea or other juices? These too are freshly squeezed, a big plus compared to juices from a packet.

Facilities Radisson

Gym

You can also tell from the gym that the Radisson Hotel is a new hotel. The gym is filled with modern – beautiful – black equipment from Matrx and there are both cardio and strength machines. What is missing from the gym are free weights, an omission that, in my opinion, is easy to fix.

Radisson Collection Spa

Rarely have I seen such a fine spa as at the Radisson hotel in Tallinn. Four different saunas can be found around the swimming pool. These include a traditional 75-degree Finnish sauna, a 55-degree Turkish steam bath, a 45-degree Sanarium – which I wasn’t familiar with – and an 85-degree infrared sauna.

Swimming pools Radisson Tallinn

On the same floor as the gym and saunas, you will find a Japanese and a normal pool. The Japanese pool is 40 degrees and although I tend to feel cold, 40 degrees is almost too hot for me.

The normal pool is 30 degrees, which is a lovely temperature.

Massage shower

Are you done sauna hopping and cooled down under the two huge rain showers found in the room? Then there is another shower with not two (four or six), but as many as eight massage jets and three shower heads in the ceiling.

Only when you stand under it do you experience how relaxing this shower is and I leave the Spa with a heavy heart at the Radisson Collection hotel.

Remote working Tallinn

Remote working in Tallinn is no problem at all. Tallinn is known as a city for digital nomads and you can also work just fine in the Radisson hotel. The connection ticks 50MB per second, which is fast enough for a video meeting or other work.

Make sure you use a VPN Connection if you use the hotel network and otherwise work from your mobile hotspot.

Conclusion Radisson Collection Tallinn

The Radisson Collection Hotel in Tallinn positively surprised me. A modern hotel and – although personal – a nice style. The room and beds are good and apart from the shower in the bathtub, the bathroom is also fine.

The spa on the fourth floor is the best I have seen so far and the breakfast is also of good quality.
