“A nice room and a good location, but also a breakfast that is not refilled even an hour before closing.”
I concluded my trip to Doha and Hong Kong with Jeanine in Brussels. Where my Emirates flight landed and we stayed two nights at the DoubleTree in the centre of Brussels. This gives us a chance to visit some Christmas markets in Brussels and ensures that I achieved my Fast Track to Diamond within the Hilton Honors programme.
In this review, I will tell you more about our experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton in central Brussels.

Hilton Member
My stay at the DoubleTree in Brussels is the latest in a series of stays to become a Diamond member with Hilton Honors (and I succeeded!). Through the Fast Track, I achieve status in 14 nights.
Some of the hotels where I stayed are listed below.

DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels
We chose the DoubleTree by Hilton mainly because of our good experience with DoubleTree and the hotel’s location. It is right in the centre, which is perfect for the two days we have in Brussels.
The hotel is located in an old building built in 1908 and has recently been renovated. The hotel has 354 rooms, divided into guest rooms and suites.

The hotel also has a restaurant, breakfast room and a gym. It does not have its own parking, but does have a partnership with Rogier car park, less than a minute’s walk away.

Advantages and disadvantages DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels City
Pros
- Location is excellent
- Recently renovated, making it look modern, fresh and undamaged
- Neat gym
- Parking is easy
Cons
- Breakfast is not DoubleTree worthy
- Wi-Fi not always stable
- Very loud music in the restaurant and work areas
Price DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels
I pay €182 per night for the DoubleTree in Brussels (December 2025) and book a King Guest Room for that. Because of my status, I get an upgrade to the King Deluxe Room with View.
We could have upgraded to one of the suites, but then we would have had to move to another room after our first night. Neither of us felt much like that.
For parking, you pay €16 per day instead of the €22 the car park normally costs.
Location DoubleTree by Hilton Brussels
The hotel’s location is perfect. The hotel is right in the centre of Brussels. During our visit to Brussels, there are several Christmas markets and it is easy to discover them this way.
If you are looking for a hotel because you have an early flight the next day, the DoubleTree is also a great place to stay. A walk to the station takes about 5 to 10 minutes and in less than half an hour you’ll be at the airport.

DoubleTree Brussels room
The room at the DoubleTree is pleasant. Personally, I like the style that many hotels are going for these days, with a kind of classic stately feel.
The room features a double bed with a sofa, armchair, desk, wardrobe, Lavazza coffee machine, TV and bathroom.
The room

Bathroom
The bathroom itself is on the small side and has a single sink, a rain shower and a toilet in a rather small recess.
Like all DoubleTree hotels, it has shampoo, soap and lotion from Crabtree.

Breakfast DoubleTree Brussels City
Breakfast room
The breakfast room is beautiful. Large, high and in the same style as the rooms. During our visit, it is quite busy during breakfast, although you are not greatly affected by the crowds.

Breakfast
Where you do notice that it is busy is at the food/breakfast itself. We sit down a little before nine and see to our disappointment that many products have already been used up and are no longer being restocked. For instance, there is no more bread and there is no more butter.

After I point this out to one of the staff, the rustic sourdough bread is replaced with white supermarket bread. A missed opportunity.
Other than that, the food is alright. Initial offerings include fruit and salads, yoghurt, and juices.

You will also find various pastries, scrambled eggs, waffles and other Belgian delicacies.

There are also two coffee machines, water dispensers and tea bags.

After dinner, you are then faced with the next dilemma:

Facilities DoubleTree Brussels City
Gym
the hotel has a good gym consisting of a number of cardio machines, dumbbells and strength machines from Technogym. There is also a men’s and women’s changing room with both having a sauna.

Water tap
Throughout the hotel you will find several water taps. These allow you to refill the bottles you have in your room with flat and sparkling water yourself.

Restaurants
The hotel has a small restaurant with bar. As we come to Brussels especially for the Christmas market, we did not use this.

Remote working Brussels
Working in Brussels is fine, but working in the hotel itself is difficult. Both in the restaurant, the breakfast room and the special work rooms, the music is very loud. So loud, in fact, that concentrating is difficult.
Also, the internet connection and/or Wi-Fi signal is not stable, so the connection often drops.

During our visit, it is also possible to send letter mail directly from the hotel.

Conclusion DoubleTree Brussels
The DoubleTree by Hilton in Brussels is a very nice hotel in a very nice location. The staff is friendly and the room is good too.
It is a pity that the breakfast leaves something to be desired, because otherwise it was a positive stay. We pointed this out both at breakfast and during check-out and if we go to Brussels again, I would definitely give the DoubleTree another chance.
