Location Villa Sorgas

Staying at Villa Sorgas is anything but a punishment. A fine and spacious villa with an insane view. Villa Sorgas is located at the foot of Gerupuk, a surf village just outside Kuta. We had lunch and dinner in Kuta, where you can get there in 15 minutes on the scooter. Want to surf? Gerupuk is the hotspot.

Villa Sorgas perches high on a mountain, giving you breathtaking views over the green forest with sea views beyond. The sunset is stunning every evening and the Infinity pool is large enough for a few laps or a pool party. In addition, the villa has three spacious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, and a smaller children’s room.

Rainy season in Villa Sorgas

Are you staying at Villa Sorgas in the summer? Then you will have fewer problems with this. Pests mainly move in during the rainy season. So you likely won’t be bothered by this from March to September.

We slept at Villa Sorgas in November, in the middle of the rainy season. The villa is surrounded by large shutters that always stay open. This causes a lot of pests to enter the villa. We were frequently accompanied by pests. Mayflies, mosquitoes and large Indonesian spiders were the order of the day.

Working remotely

If you want to work from the villa, you have a great place in terms of space. For remote workers, there is a spacious dining table where four people can sit extensively. Just make sure to arrange mobile internet yourself. This is because the internet in the villa is not fast and not unlimited. For 4G, a SIM card that needs daily top-ups.

Minuses

As lovely as the place is, Villa Sorgas could use some extra attention. in the meantime. During the rainy season, Lombok can be quite haunted. Heavy rainfall and bright sunshine start to leave their marks on the villa. Also, the toilets are no longer in excellent condition (small cracks or yellow stains) and the showers are calcified here and there. Elsewhere in the villa, it squeaks and creaks thanks to heavy use.
