A stone’s throw from Kuta’s bustling main street, Villa Namu is tucked among palm trees. Even though you’re in the heart of Kuta, you feel like you’re in the middle of nature. Villa Namu was my ‘home on Lombok’ for a few weeks and in this review on Villa Namu, I am happy to share my experiences of this lovely place with you!

Namu Lombok includes several cottages, including Villa Namu. They are all minimalist, new cottages (built in 2021 – 2022). Check out all their projects here.
The cottages feature a living room with a sofa, a lounge table and a Flatscreen / Smart TV. In the same space you will also find the kitchenette with a small bar. Adjacent to the living room is the bedroom, some of which have a large drawer under the bed. Ideal for storing clothes or travel bags. Furthermore, each villa has a walk-through bathroom. Outside, you will find a lounge sofa, a swimming pool and a garden that can be closed off. This offers you plenty of privacy.
Advantages

Cons
- Pool is quite small

- Too small to stay for an extended period

Location Villa Namu Lombok
Villa Namu’s location is very good. The villa sits at the beginning of the main street in Kuta and within 2-3 minutes you are on a scooter all the way through the centre. The market is within walking distance.
Kuta itself is full of fine local warungs (local restaurants), trendy coffee shops and Western restaurants. You can go here for a good acai bowl, good cappuccino but also an authentic Nasi Goreng. Supermarkets are plentiful and if you want to stay in shape a bit, you’ll find two gyms on the main street. I have now strolled around Kuta three times for a few weeks and collected all my tips here.

Remote working @ Lombok Villa Namu
I work a lot remotely and I also worked during my stay at Villa Namu. The internet at Villa Namu is perfect: 25Mbit and few hiccups. Digital appointments via Google Meets went fine.
Unfortunately, a good workplace is lacking. The bar area is too small and, furthermore, there is no seat to put down your laptop. Working from a sofa or bed for an entire month is far from ideal. If you want to work remotely from home, Villa Namu is not a good option. Fortunately, there are places in Kuta where you can work. I have collected some of them for you in this blog.

Disadvantages Villa Namu
In my experience, a few things could be better. For instance, the kitchen is very small and not equipped with many kitchen utensils. Also, a boiler for using water is not included as standard. However, you can order bottles from reception, which they bring right away.
The layout of the bathroom is not logical. Because the toilet is placed behind the shower, you spend most of the day walking through a wet bathroom when you want to go to the toilet. Also, the bed is quite narrow, the blankets too short and the mattress offers little comfort.
Still, I had a fine month at Villa Namu. You have to be flexible and creative here and there, but the staff are fantastic and so is the wifi.
Villa Namu is a charming spot, especially suited for a shorter stay or a relaxed holiday in Lombok.
