As a Hilton Honors member who collects points by staying at Hilton properties, I prefer to stay in Hilton hotels whenever possible. I recently spent a midweek break in late summer in Prague and booked this great Hilton hotel, right in the city centre, for this purpose. Thanks to my status, I could relax in the hotel lounge every day and got a room upgrade! You can read my in-depth experience of Hilton Prague here.

Advantages
- Neat and clean rooms;
- The wellness facilities are good;
- Spacious breakfast with plenty of choice, including in the lounge;
- The hotel boasts one of the city’s best sky bars;
- The hotel is adjacent to Prague’s most popular beer garden;
- The location is excellent.
Cons
- The hotel has been modernised, but this has not been well implemented;
- Beds and pillows are not up to Hilton standards;
- The price-quality ratio is disappointing;
- Lobby and bathroom look dated;
- The shower was poor.
Skybar Prague
At the top of the Hilton hotel in Prague you will find Cloud9 Skybar. Cloud9 is one of the most popular skybars in Prague, offering stunning views from the terrace. Unfortunately, when we visited the hotel there was a private party, so we were only allowed to use half of the bar, but even here the view was stunning.
Note that drinks are more expensive here than in the rest of the city. A glass of wine easily costs €10–€12 here and a cocktail is available from 15 euros

Hilton Prague location
The hotel’s location is perfect;
- It’s within walking distance of the main square and the historic city centre..
- Located in the Karlin district, full of restaurants and beer gardens.
- Only 25 minutes from the airport by car or taxi.

Beer garden Karlin
Beer garden Prague
On the deck at the foot of the hotel you will find the popular beer garden Karlín. Here you can enjoy a beer with stunning views of the Vltava River. For a beer or wine, you pay around €2 (throughout Prague). You can also enjoy a good meal at Karlín Beer Garden. A burger there will cost you around €12.

Hilton breakfast
Breakfast at the Hilton is good. Of course, some hotels offer more extensive breakfast buffets, but you’ll also pay significantly more there.
Breakfast is available both on the ground floor and in the lounge, with the ground floor being more extensive. As there was a trade fair going on at the time we visited the hotel, we had breakfast in the lounge for two of the three days.
Breakfast includes fresh salads – though the selection could be more varied – various yogurt dishes, breads and pastries. Tea, coffee and fresh juices abound. Enjoying your breakfast in the lounge? Then there are also bottles of champagne to add a nice twist to your breakfast.

Working from abroad
Remote working at the Hilton
Where the Hilton does score well is the ability to work remotely. As I mentioned in the intro, I have status at Hilton due to my American Express card and was able to enjoy the executive lounge in Prague as well, and this provided a quiet and comfortable space to work – in this case, a dedicated work bar..
Wi-Fi at Hilton properties can sometimes be inconsistent, but in Prague I had a fairly constant Wi-Fi connection of ~30MB/s and that’s more than enough to do intensive work and/or online meetings.
