Since I often fly to Asia, I frequently have stopovers in Singapore. While Changi Airport is worth seeing at least once, I also wanted to explore the city itself. I couldn’t believe my luck when I got the chance to explore Singapore from one of my favourite hotel chains: Conrad Centennial. After a fantastic stay at Conrad Istanbul, I’ve been a loyal fan ever since.
The Conrad is one of the more luxurious segments of the Hilton programme and the icing on the cake was that we got to stay at the Conrad Centennial in Singapore for free! We had been saving Hilton points for a long time thanks to our American Express card. Would you also like to save up for a night’s stay at a super fancy hotel? I explain how it works here.

Advantages
Conrad is the more luxurious segment of Hilton and my personal favourite. See my list of perks here:
- Spacious, fresh rooms
- Very good breakfast both on the ground floor and in the lounge
- The executive lounge
- The gym is well-equipped and spacious
- The swimming pool is large and perfect for a refreshing swim
- The location is unbeatable (within easy reach of Marina Bay)
Cons
It’s hard to find any downsides, but if I had to name one of Conrad Singapore:
- Breakfast at the Conrad in Istanbul is the best I ever had. Unfortunately, Conrad Singapore didn’t quite match that level.

Conrad Singapore location
The Conrad’s location is perfect;
- Within walking distance of Marina Bay
- Close to several metro stations
- Surrounded by quaint restaurants and tasty eateries in Little India
Hilton Diamond Member
Thanks to our American Express credit card, we have Platinum status with Hilton. This gave us a free room upgrade as well as access to the Executive lounge. This Executive lounge is located on the 31st floor and here you can have (free) breakfast, coffee and drinks. As Singapore is quite an expensive city, we made extensive use of the lounge and were selective about where we chose to spend money outside the hotel.
When you step inside a Conrad, you immediately feel more than welcome, appreciated and lacking nothing. Truly a great experience.
It’s a shame more people don’t realize how easy it can be to elevate your trip with the right perks.

The room at the Conrad Singapore
The room at the Conrad in Singapore was very good. Basically exactly what you expect from a hotel in this class. Not overly spacious, but still offered enough room to move around comfortably. The style of the hotel can be described as stately-classic and elegant. It is definitely not a modern-inspired hotel and this is reflected in the room.
The king-size bed is generous in size and the pillows are genuinely unbeatable, although this is of course a matter of taste. We inquired directly at the front desk after our stay whether the pillows could be shipped to the Netherlands. Although that is not possible, we did get through to the manufacturer to order the pillows ourselves (yes!).

Hilton breakfast
Breakfast is a bit on the meagre side. During our stay in Istanbul, we stayed (also via our American Express credit card) at the Conrad in Istanbul and compared to that breakfast, this seemed a bit sparse.
There is plenty of choice, both healthy and unhealthy, but unfortunately no extensive salad bar and few local delicacies.
We had breakfast downstairs once and the other days we went to the 31st floor for a nice breakfast. Again, while the breakfast setup is smaller, it offers nearly everything that’s available downstairs. Besides, in the lounge you have a dedicated chef preparing made-to-order dishes, which I can enjoy.
With the smaller setup, the quietness and the possibility of having the chef prepare a number of dishes, you have a totally different experience of your breakfast.

Remote working in Singapore
The Conrad Centennial Singapore is perfect for the digital nomad who wants to work remotely. The Hilton does not have the fastest internet, but it is generally stable. There are good workstations both on the ground floor and in the lounge. If you don’t have lounge access, there are still plenty of comfortable work spots throughout the hotel.
