Good news for travellers with an American Express Platinum or Centurion Card: Schiphol will soon have its own Centurion Lounge.
The new lounge will open in 2026 and will be located between Piers E and F, in the intercontinental section of the airport. The lounge will be almost 600 m² in size and featuring an interior inspired by Amsterdam’s canals and Dutch heritage – including art by local makers. Think earth tones, blue-green colours, and plenty of natural light thanks to large floor-to-ceiling windows.
What can you expect in the Centurion Lounge at Schiphol Airport?
As an AMEX cardholder, you can count on the familiar premium experience you’ve come to expect from American Express Lounges worldwide:
- High-quality menus inspired by local dishes
- Nice coffee bar for a relaxing start to your trip
- Proper workstations with fast and stable internet
- Comfortable seating areas for relaxation or productivity
According to Audrey Hendley (President of American Express Travel), the lounge responds to travellers’ need for comfort as well as authenticity: “Travellers are seeking memorable experiences. This lounge combines luxury with a Dutch touch.”
Schiphol itself is also enthusiastic. Dave Stroop, responsible for terminal development, calls it “a valuable addition to the facilities that takes the travel experience at Schiphol to the next level.”
Part of global network
The lounge at Schiphol Airport will be part of the American Express Global Lounge Collection™, giving cardholders access to more than 1,550 lounges worldwide. Want more information on American Express benefits or card advantages? Read this comprehensive guide.
Access: who is allowed in?
Access is exclusive to American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders (including two guests), just like at other Centurion Lounges worldwide. A nice upgrade for those who often fly via Schiphol and one I am definitely looking forward to!
