Nitya Maharani Delhi

I FEEL I SHOULD BE HONEST IN MY REVIEWS. THIS REVIEW IS NOT A PROMOTION FOR THIS HOTEL, BUT A GENUINE ACCOUNT OF MY EXPERIENCE AT NITYA MAHARANI.

Jeanine Tuinstra

I found it very difficult to find a good hotel in Delhi. After a bit of Googling, we decided that the Paharganj district was probably a nice place to be. In the heart of Delhi and close to Connaught place and Old Delhi. To be honest, that was a bit disappointing.

We arrived after a long journey from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and were ready for a good night’s sleep. The surroundings already gave us a bad feeling, crowds, stray dogs and lots of rubbish. The room we were assigned the first night was just as bad.

A small, old bed, no running water and a dirty bathroom with bugs crawling around. I felt like crying and was already on Booking looking for a new hotel. No way was I going to spend another 3 nights here. Nevertheless, we spent the night here and reported to reception the next morning. That was handled well and within 3 minutes our suitcases were in a new room. This one was a lot bigger, but that’s about all I can say.

The next day, I got sick and spent almost the entire day in bed. I was glad we only found out a day later that two cockroaches had been sharing the room with us all along.

Advantages

  • Although I found the location too crowded, you do stay in the middle of Delhi.

Cons

  • Located in a very busy and poor area;
  • No housekeeping, so no clean cups, no clean towels and your room is not cleaned up;
  • It is dirty and there are vermin running around;
  • The bed and pillows are lived-in (small and dirty);
  • It is very noisy.

Location Hotel Nitya Maharani

I am not a fan of location of Hotel Nitya Maharani. Punjurami is a busy, poor neighbourhood. This means you have a lot of stray dogs and beggars there. There are also many taxi drivers who all want to stop you. In no time, you’re surrounded by a crowd. I personally did not like this.

Cost Hotel Nitya Maharani

You pay €60 per night, which is far too much for what you get in return. So the value for money is poor in my opinion. This hotel belongs in a range of 15-25 euros per night and should definitely not cost more.

Working remotely

There’s not much to say here, but remote working is not an option at this hotel. I was also unable to discover any suitable workplaces nearby.

Nitya Maharani breakfast

The Nitya Maharani offers breakfast, but we did not opt for it as we found the price too high. Besides, there are an awful lot of restaurants in the area. The reviews of the breakfast aren’t very positive either
